Daniel E. Taylor, a director with Tripp Scott, is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-Rated attorney with more than 45 years of legal experience providing clients throughout South Florida with strategic counsel on governmental, regulatory, environmental, and land-use issues. He also serves as the chair of the firm’s commercial real estate practice.

Taylor has experience handling complex permitting, land-use, and compliance issues and has represented Florida's largest recycler of solid waste and construction and demolition debris. He has also assisted major national retailers and other large companies in meeting requirements for expansion to South Florida and has successfully represented manufacturing and construction companies in regulatory compliance matters.

Prior to joining Tripp Scott in 1994, Taylor served as chief of the environmental law section for the Broward County Attorney's Office. He has handled land-use and environmental litigation at the trial and appellate levels and has presented cases before federal and local agencies. Additionally, he has drafted and updated environmental ordinances regulating air quality, wetlands, and hazardous materials.
Active in community organizations, Taylor has served the City of Boca Raton as chairman of its Environmental Advisory Board, and he has served on the city's Environmentally Sensitive Lands Selection Committee. In addition, he served as President of the Board of Directors of the Leadership Broward Foundation and Chairman of the Board for the Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. He previously served on the advisory board for the Children's Diagnostic & Treatment Center.

Taylor is a charter member of the Florida Bar's government lawyer section. He served on the board of the Petroleum Industry Association of Florida and is a past vice chairman of the Broward County Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee.

Dan spent 21 years in the U.S. Army as a military officer, with overseas tours in Vietnam, France, and Berlin, Germany.  A retired colonel with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, Taylor holds an LL.M. from the New York University School of Law and a Juris Doctor and bachelor's degree from the University of Florida.
